The Belgian Level 2 PSA was initially built in EVNTRE following the NUREG-1150 large event tree approach. Level 1 PSA has been developed separately in RiskSpectrum using event tree and fault tree representation. Recently, it has been decided for Level 2 PSA to transit to the integrated Level 1 / Level 2 PSA approach based on the latest US NRC methodology for Level 2 PSA development (U.S. NRC Level 3 Probabilistic Risk Assessment Project, Volume 3c: Reactor, At-Power, Level 2 PRA for Internal Events and Floods, April 2022). To this end, an updated methodology has been developed accordingly, and an existing Level 2 PSA model in EVNTRE has been rebuilt in RiskSpectrum following this integrated approach, to enable a benchmark exercise to validate this transition. Typical Level 2 PSA risk metrics including containment failure frequency and frequencies of different release categories have been compared to ensure the consistency of the results.
