The Probabilistic Safety Assessment & Management conference is the conference in risk, risk management, reliability, safety, and associated topics. This world-wide group meets internationally every two years. In September 2018, it made its rotation back to the United States at the new UCLA Luskin Conference Center in Los Angeles, CA.

The fourteenth edition of conference was very well attended. In addition to being home to today’s innovators in aerospace, medical and educational advancements, visitors were able to enjoy a spectrum of destinations including beaches, mountains, museums, and, of course, Beverly Hills.

The PSAM conference brought together experts from various industries, research organizations, regulatory authorities and universities in the fields of nuclear, process and chemical industries, off-shore and marine, transportation, space and aviation, IT and telecommunications, bio and medical technology, civil engineering, financial management and other fields. The multi-disciplinary conference was aimed to cross-fertilize methods, technologies and ideas for the benefit of all. PSAM14 also provided the risk and reliability community an opportunity to reflect on the foundational contributions made by our Honorary Chair: Dr. B. John Garrick.
